Siem Reap Pub Crawls
Siem Reap is a small city built around one large attraction, and its nightlife reflects this: it runs hard for what it is, packs up early-ish, and doesn't take itself seriously. Pub Street is a short pedestrianised block with Angkor Wat t-shirt shops giving way to bars that open at 5pm and close sometime after midnight. The Passage (a covered alley next to Pub Street) runs smaller venues with less foot traffic. The most interesting drinking in town is a few blocks away from the tourist strip: Kandal Village around Pokambor Avenue has independent bars and restaurants that could exist in any mid-sized Southeast Asian city.

What You'll Pay
Draught Angkor beer at a Pub Street bar: $1–2. Cocktails: $3–6. Happy hour (typically 5–8pm) at most Pub Street bars drops this by 30–50%. A full evening at Pub Street including dinner at one of the restaurants runs $15–30. Kandal Village bars charge $3–5 for a craft beer and $6–10 for a cocktail — still cheap by any regional standard. The dollar economy means pricing is exact and there's no currency conversion friction.
Best Nights
Pub Street runs seven nights and the variation is minimal; Thursday through Saturday has the most foot traffic. Sunset from the rooftop bars on Pub Street (Miss Wong, Laundry) before heading to Angkor Wat at sunrise the following morning is a specific Siem Reap ritual. Tuesday nights at the Kandal Village bars are a local favourite — expats and long-termers rather than one-night visitors.
Practical
Siem Reap has no public transport. Tuk-tuks are the standard and cost $2–5 for any journey within the city, negotiated before departure. Grab operates in Siem Reap. The Old Market and Pub Street areas are walkable from most central hotels. Cash (USD) dominates everywhere. Card payments are accepted at larger restaurants and hotels but most bars prefer cash. No dress codes; the humidity removes any interest in formal clothing.
