New Delhi Pub Crawls

Delhi's nightlife runs along a loose axis from Hauz Khas Village in South Delhi (independent bars, rooftops, the lake view from certain terraces) through Greater Kailash to the strip of clubs in Vasant Kunj and Sector 29 in Gurugram, technically a different city but accessible and where the serious club scene lives. Hauz Khas Village was overbuilt and peaked around 2015; some of the original bars remain functional and the setting is still better than anywhere else in the city. The Gurugram clubs (Kitty Su's Gurugram equivalent, Privé, Lure) are where the Thursday-to-Saturday club circuit happens. Connaught Place has a handful of surviving legacy venues.

The New Delhi Nightlife Scene

What You'll Pay

Delhi's better bars charge ₹400–700 per cocktail. Beer at a mid-market bar: ₹200–450. Club entry in Gurugram: ₹1,500–2,500 per person, sometimes including a drinks credit. Hauz Khas Village rates vary; the established rooftop spots charge Bandra prices, the smaller places are cheaper at ₹200–350 per beer. A full evening in the Gurugram club circuit — entry, four drinks, late taxi — runs ₹4,000–7,000 per person.

Best Nights

Gurugram clubs run Thursday through Saturday, with Thursday positioning as industry night (cheaper entry, fewer bridge-and-tunnel tourists). Friday and Saturday are the big nights. Hauz Khas Village is better on Thursday and Sunday afternoons when it's not at full tourist capacity. Delhi's nightlife has a late start: nothing is worth showing up to before 11pm, and clubs hit their peak between midnight and 2am.

Practical

Delhi Metro closes at 11pm, which is before most of the nightlife starts. This means Ola or Uber for everything after 10pm. Both apps work reliably and surge pricing at 2am in South Delhi is manageable — typically ₹300–600 for cross-town travel. Gurugram to South Delhi is longer, around ₹600–1,000. Cash and cards both work; most clubs and better bars accept cards. Dress codes at Gurugram clubs are enforced: no shorts, trainers, or football shirts.
