Canggu Pub Crawls

Canggu is where Bali's digital nomad population drinks, which means the bars are open late, the music is electronic, and the average age skews younger than Seminyak. Batu Bolong Street is the main strip: Old Man's (the bar, not the café) faces the beach and runs surf-adjacent crowds from afternoon through to midnight, La Brisa sits in a bamboo structure a few hundred metres up the beach and operates as a day-to-night beach club, and the Pererenan end of the strip has the quieter wine-and-craft-beer set. The Echo Beach area at the north end has a few spots worth knowing including The Lawn, which does sundowner sessions from 3pm. Canggu runs later than most of Bali; bars here go until 2am when the same venues in Seminyak are closing.

What You'll Pay

Bintang at a Canggu beach bar: IDR 40,000–70,000. Cocktails: IDR 80,000–150,000. La Brisa doesn't post menu prices prominently but budget IDR 120,000–180,000 for a drink. Old Man's happy hour (typically 5–7pm) drops beers to IDR 30,000–40,000 and the sundowner crowds are substantial. A full Canggu evening starting at Old Man's and ending somewhere on Batu Bolong Street is IDR 300,000–600,000 including food from one of the warungs.

Best Nights

Canggu runs consistently. Sunday sessions at La Brisa are a known fixture: a day that started with a surf lesson drifts into a DJ set by 4pm and running until late. Tuesday nights at Old Man's are historically strong for the local and long-stay resident crowd. Saturday brings the Seminyak spillover. The Batu Bolong bars are quieter Monday through Wednesday, which is when the warung tables become available and conversations happen.

Practical

Canggu is walkable across the main Batu Bolong strip. Grab operates for getting to and from the area; Canggu to Seminyak is IDR 60,000–100,000 and subject to Jalan Raya Canggu traffic, which is reliably problematic on Friday evenings. Motorbike rental is the local standard; IDR 60,000–80,000 per day from most guesthouses. Parking on Batu Bolong Street fills up by 6pm on weekends. Cards accepted at most venues; smaller warungs prefer cash.
