What to Expect

BGC's club strip concentrates along 9th and 10th Avenues, with venues like Revel at The Palace, Nox, and Draft pulling in the post-work professional crowd mid-week and a mixed group of Filipinos and travellers at weekends. The production values are noticeably higher than Makati's club options: proper sound systems, actual DJs rather than playlists, and table service if you want it. Drinks in these venues run ₱250-400 for a bottled beer, ₱450-700 for a cocktail. The clubs operate late; most don't reach capacity until after midnight and run until 3am or beyond. The crawl structures two or three stops to let you see the difference between venues rather than spending the whole night in one place. BGC itself is a 10-minute drive from Makati proper, grid-planned with decent lighting and security guards posted at most intersections. It reads differently to the rest of Manila, which is either a relief or a disappointment depending on what you came for.

Anyone after a proper club night rather than a bar crawl. The BGC venues have the infrastructure for it; the Makati alternatives are smaller and louder without necessarily being better.

• Revel at The Palace on 9th Avenue has one of the better sound systems in Manila. Worth knowing for future reference.
• The crawl covers entry; drinks add up quickly at BGC prices. Set a budget before you start.
• BGC has abundant Grab availability until 4am. Order from inside the club rather than on the street.
• Weekends are busier and louder. If you want to actually talk to people, Tuesday to Thursday at these venues is a different experience entirely.
