Koh Samui Pub Crawls
Koh Samui's nightlife concentrates in Chaweng Beach, the island's main strip on the east coast. Chaweng's main road runs parallel to the beach with bars, clubs, and restaurants on both sides; Green Mango and ARQ are the large clubs at the Chaweng centre, around which the rest of the strip orbits. The beach road itself has the easier, open-fronted bars that run from 6pm. Fisherman's Village on the north coast (Bophut) is the quieter alternative, used by people staying in the boutique resorts who want food and a couple of drinks rather than a club night. Lamai Beach, on the south side, runs a middle ground: livelier than Bophut but lower-key than Chaweng.

What You'll Pay
Beer at a Chaweng beach bar: THB 80–130. Club entry at Green Mango or ARQ: THB 300–500, including a drink. Cocktails on the main strip: THB 180–300. Fisherman's Village bars charge THB 100–180 for beer, THB 200–350 for cocktails. A full Chaweng evening with club entry and five drinks is THB 1,200–2,000. This is higher than similar-sized islands because Samui has more infrastructure and prices reflect it.
Best Nights
Chaweng runs seven nights; December and January are peak and the clubs are at capacity on weekends. Green Mango is the most consistent performer Thursday through Saturday. Fisherman's Village has a walking street market on Friday evenings that runs from 5pm and becomes a social circuit before bars open properly. Low season (May–September) sees Chaweng operating at reduced capacity but the main clubs stay open.
Practical
Koh Samui has no public transport. Songthaews (covered trucks) run fixed coastal routes during daylight hours. After dark, Grab operates and is the reliable option; a ride from Chaweng to Bophut is THB 150–250. Metered taxis are scarce; negotiate prices with the Chaweng taxi drivers before getting in. Cash is standard at most bars; the larger clubs accept cards. Songthaews don't run reliably after midnight.
Getting to Koh Samui from Bangkok, Koh Tao, and Koh Phangan.
