Phuket Pub Crawls
Phuket's nightlife is geographically fragmented across a large island. Patong is the main event: Bangla Road is a 400-metre pedestrianised street that runs bars, clubs, and entertainment venues from 6pm to 3am, and it does not attempt subtlety. The crowds are large, the music is competing from multiple directions simultaneously, and the beer is cheap. This is the declared purpose of the strip and it delivers on it. Kata and Karon beaches are quieter and more appropriate for nights that don't involve Bangla Road. Phuket Town, thirty minutes from Patong, has a genuinely good bar scene on Thalang Road and nearby sois, aimed at residents and people who've been to Bangla Road already.

What You'll Pay
Beer on Bangla Road: ฿80–120 at open-fronted bars, ฿150–200 at the clubs further in. Club entry (Illuzion, Seduction) is ฿500–600, usually with one drink included. Phuket Town bars charge ฿100–180 for craft beer, ฿180–300 for cocktails. A Bangla Road night with entry and six drinks is ฿1,500–2,000. A Phuket Town evening is ฿600–1,000 and a completely different experience.
Best Nights
Bangla Road runs every night and the variation between days is minimal; Friday and Saturday are louder, weeknights have slightly less competition for bar seating. Phuket Town's Thalang Road area is better mid-week when it's occupied by locals and long-stay visitors rather than weekend spillover from Patong. Kata Beach's bar strip has its best nights on Thursday and Friday when the beach bars run live acoustic sets from 7pm.
Practical
Phuket has no public transport in any meaningful sense. Grab operates across the island and is the reliable option; a Patong to Phuket Town ride is ฿200–350. Metered taxis are scarce; tuk-tuks charge ฿200–500 and the price is negotiated before. Bangla Road is pedestrianised so you leave transport at either end. Cash is standard across Patong; Phuket Town's bars accept cards. No dress codes.
